just spent a most relaxing and happy evening with bar meal followed next morning by a fantastic breakfast before heading north to Glasgow.
landscape, food was really good, staff very helpful!
The view,and the overallvalue
The waiter and waitress service was really poor. The meal was adequate but due to poor service even the beef did not impress.. We would not use the resteraunte again as it was over priced and poor service. The waiters need some training in genuine custermer care, not grovelliing and blaming others for the poor service. Sorry
Excellent staff, close to the M6. A good hotel to stop in on your travels.Terrific menu and breakfast
Well planed rooms
Friendly atmosphere, convenient location, comfortable bed, large room and great food!
style and cleanliness of rooms, welcoming fire .enjoyed the meal in the restaurant and thought breakfast was very good too. we will be back
because i am an avid reader i would have liked a better light in the bedroom
The rooms were beautifully and thoughtfully furnished and to find sush a lovely place so near to the motorway seems like a miracle. You would not have known the motorway was there.
Good size very comfortable, clean rooms. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, the food and wine were very good and the service was great.
Although the bed was big it was just two singles pushed together. The service at breakfast was not as good as it was for dinner. There didn't seem to be enough staff on, we waited about 15 minutes just to get a cup of tea.
This place is very nice. You would not know the M6 is so close. The food is of a very high standard and the staff cannot be faulted. We would return again.
Like the situation of the hotel and the views. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. We always relax as we come through the door.
we prefer closed wardrobes to put away our clothes, not having everything on display. The bath in room 38 was chipped. Although understandable, it detracted from the ambience of the accommodation.
The peace and quiet of the hotel and location, food good, accomadation good.
more of a choice on the bar menu, not enough to choose from if you were staying for example mon-fri or a week.
* Central location * Spacious room * Food in the pub * Parking space * Staff at breakfast and fine bar * Free Internet, although not very stable * Perfect english breakfast
All minor remarks: * Simple little lift * No desk in the room * No air conditioning, although this time not missed * The old-fashioned key * Number of TV channels is limited * Rather separate shower than bath * Why is there no terrace? * Reservations for dinner impractical. But okay, food in the pub is (much) cheaper and just as good.
The bed was very comfy and the room was very nice... One of the nicest stopovers when travelling to and from Scotland.
Excellent bedrooms, well designed, modern and comfortable. Great postion for stop-over on the way to Scotland. Service area next to the hotel was the best i have been to. Made a point of stopping off at services on the way home.
Would have liked to try the evening meal, but as dogs were not allowed in the public area we had to travel to a great pub in Shap to get a meal with dog . We do not like to leave the dog in the room unattended or for lengthy periods in the car. if a hotel states that it is dog friendly then there ought to be facility for eating with dog in tow. Reception staff did not give any help in finding somewhere nearby to eat with dog-( quote- I dont have a dog so i dont know about tose knd of facilities)- pub landlord in Orton was very helpful though!
