convenient comfortable stopover situation on our journey from Hampshire to Edinburgh
We arrived later than expected and bar meals were about to close - I ordered meals for both my husband & I. My meal wasnt quited cooked through, staff replaced it and also gave a couple of free drinks when I went to the bar. Nothing was to much trouble. this is my 2nd or 3rd time here & staff have always been excellent. - I would recommend it to my friends
Very comfortable and a lot of thought has gone into its design. A local business which is very successful. Enjoy the food and look at the shop.
perfect as a stop over on the way to Scotland
bathroom could have been cleaner
See above scores. Excellant hotel . Gym and suna would be a very goos addition.
I sent an e-mail on Sunday night qeurying an over charge on 7 July re. 'Drinks in Restauranr' I have had no reply as yet which is very dissapointing.
Watching ducklings right outside bedroom window. Decor of room was lovely and it was very spacious.
Charge for pets was extra. Not much for vegetarians for cooked breakfast.
Perfectly satisfactory for our use which was an overnight break on our journey from the north of Scotland
This hotel is ideally situated for us to stay in to break the journey to Scotland. Food always of a high standard and very helpful staff.
This time was unable to get discounted room rate. Thought it may be because they were busy but they were not. Will seriously consider looking elsewhere next time as £106 B&B is too much
The wonderful view of the fells, the firndly staff, teh spacious accommodation and the delicious food.
Location mid way to my destination in England a perfect place to break my journey
I just loved it; the attention to detail was amazing; best breakfast ever; a superb evening meal; all in an extraordinary setting just yards from the M6 (which we could not hear at all). In fact, after I had unpacked I went back to the Reception to say how brilliant I thought the place was.
That its so far away. We'd love to stay over Christmas/New Year but it's too far to travel from Exeter.
A scenic setting , especially in the very wintry conditions during our stay, and convenient for M6 travellers. Good service, nice interior, excellent breakfast and the real log fire was welcome
The location is excellent vfm. We have stayed previously and toured the Lakes; and villages of Cumbria. On this occasion we used Westmoorland Hotel as a base to tour the east of M6 include taking in North Yorkshire. The staff are all polite and helpful. We love the breakfast they offer. We have only had food in the lounge in the evenings (not the restaurant) which was also good. We go the Cross Keys Inn, Tebay for other meals for their cuisinne and historical interest (14th century inn and the ghost of Mary Baines). A complaint we did have (against a fellow guest) was dealt with professionally and swiftly by staff in a diplomatic fashion. We were well looked after and will re-visit.
The resturant was of a high standard. The views were excellent.
The housekeeping was not of the best quality.
Room overlooking the moor. Friendly staff. They also gave us a 10% off voucher for the farm shop at the nearby motorway service station so we stocked up on local produce before heading for home.
